BreakFree puts you inside the maze. Chase your own fireball through brick corridors, line up rebounds, catch power-ups, and clear every breakable wall before your reserves run out.

TWO WAYS TO BREAK FREE

BreakFree returns with the complete 1995 game and a modern Remastered mode in one package. Choose the preserved Original for the authentic DOS experience, or play the same 72-level campaign rebuilt for current PCs and controllers.

ENTER THE MAZE

Move through twisting corridors, keep the fireball in play, and clear every breakable wall before your reserves run out. Each level changes the layout, timer, hazards, wall behaviors, and opportunities to turn the game in your favor.

MASTER THE ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN

Fight through 72 levels named for the elements, from Hydrogen to Hafnium. The Remastered campaign is converted from the retail game’s original level and grid data, including its wall layouts, starting positions, timers, special walls, hazards, and power-ups.

CHOOSE YOUR VERSION

Original mode preserves the 1995 release and runs it through an included compatibility layer.

Remastered mode adds:

• Modern Windows support

• Full keyboard and controller play

• Adaptive Xbox and PlayStation button prompts

• Original retail sound effects

• Distinct brick, steel, cave, Ocean, and high-tech environments

• High Contrast and Reduced Motion options

• Optional controller vibration with a saved on/off setting

TURN THE WALLS AGAINST THEMSELVES

Catch score and time bonuses, earn extra balls, change the fireball’s speed, release multiballs, pick up the gun, trigger near-kill blasts, and unleash the original eight-shot shotgun spread. Watch out for poison, penalties, bombs, hazards, and indestructible walls.

BreakFree rewards awareness, movement, and recovery. One clean rebound can save a run. One power-up can change the whole level.

Photosensitivity warning. BreakFree has bright, fast-moving fireballs that can fill much of the screen, and some flickering wall animations. A small number of people may have seizures when exposed to flashing lights or patterns. If you or anyone in your family has epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. Controls ▸ Accessibility ▸ Animation: Still stops the wall and sprite flicker; it does not change the fireballs themselves.
